FAILURES OF MAYOR BLOOMBERG'S FIVE YEAR PLAN!!

When Mayor Bloomberg released his Five Year Plan, he included detailed graphs to chart the projected decrease in the population of homeless families and singles. Picture the Homeless has compared his projections with the actual changes in the homeless population over the past four years. DRASTIC ACTION IS NEEDED!

Black lines indicate the decreases projected in Mayor Bloomberg’s Five Year Plan. Red lines indicate the actual changes in the first four years of the Five Year Plan.

All projections are taken directly from the “Implementation Schedule” released with the Mayor’s Five Year Plan, and available on the Department of Homeless Services website at: www.nyc.gov/html/dhs/downloads/pdf/implem-update0904.pdf

2005-2008 Statistics are also taken from the city’s own records—the “Critical Activities Report” published by the Department of Homeless Services and available online at:

The Implementation Schedule also committed to release monthly “implementation updates,” to be shared publicly at www.nyc.gov/endinghomelessness... but the last one is from July of 2005!
