<p> WHY I AM COMMITTED TO THE WALL STREET BAILOUT PROTEST
The Current ruling class of America continues its domination over the masses by “splits and divisions.” Abraham Lincoln said it best, when he stated “A nation cannot continue to exist, half slave, half free.
Currently, this nation cannot prosper when the masses are subjected to the whims of a free market economic theory, guided by a so called “Invisible Hand,” while the elite status quo continues to reap the benefits of John Maynard Keynes economic theory of government intervention to jump start economic systems when they experience stumbling blocks due to market imperfections.
We at Picture the Homeless, wish to be part of a growing movement that says: <i>We are tired of the double standard that under the pretext of “Welfare Reform” abolishes Aid To Dependant Children, while at the same time rendering massive tax breaks to the richest of the rich in our nation.
</i></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">We are told that there is no money available to continue the late Dr. Martin Luther King’s “Poor Peoples Campaign,” or Lyndon Baines Johnson’s “War On Poverty,” while at the same time, we can find funding to finance an illegal war, based upon something called “Preventive Strike,” a concept conceived inside of a conservative think tank called the Manhattan Institute, packaged in lies; and sold to the American people. We can find funding to house a record number of our American sisters and brothers in a state of incarceration [see Pew Report, on Incarceration In America] but cannot find funding for a quality education for our youth, who are our future.
I ask you why is it, that we can house record numbers of citizens in a state of incarceration, yet, we cannot find funding or the political will to house these same citizens outside of grey prison walls, in a post incarceration setting?</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Some mainstream economists believe that a certain level of unemployment is desirable to keep inflation down; I believe that employment produces disposable income, i. e. consumer dollars that in turn stimulates production and trickles downward into tax revenue….. This, I suggest, is a real TRICKLE-DOWN PROCESS.</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">
We at Picture The Homeless, believe in participatory democracy: Town Hall meetings; Shadow Conventions etc. We are in the vanguard of the mobilization of the masses to reorder the priorities of our misguided misdirected nation, towards the “Common Good”, and a more just and equitable society.</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">{In order to learn more about the current work of Picture The Homeless, and how we go about our work, please visit our web – site: or pay us a visit in person}</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Jean Rice</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Member, Board of Directors</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Picture the Homeless</div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"> </div><p> </p>
