Pictures from December 10th East Harlem Rally Against Displacement

This Monday's rally against displacement and gentrification in East Harlem was a phenomenal success. East Harlem REPRESENTED: we had homeless people, we had members of Community Voices Heard, organizers from Metropolitan Council on Housing, activists around issues like community gardens and New Orleans solidarity... the Latin King & Queen Nation turned out a massive youth contingent, and a huge crowd of elders came from public housing developments. As the El Barrio/East Harlem Anti-Displacement Taskforce's kick-off action, it was an exciting indication of our power and our potential. Enjoy these pictures, and SAVE THE DATE for our follow-up action: 3 Kings Day March. Sunday, January 6, 2007, 12:00 PM. LOCATION TBD. Special thanks to Jennifer Wager of Manhattan Neighborhood Network, for taking these excellent photos.
