Position Title: Housing Organizer
 
Organization: Picture the Homeless
 
Description: Picture the Homeless is seeking an experienced organizer to build on the wins of our innovative housing campaign. Areas of campaign focus include pressuring city government to develop housing for the homeless, fighting displacement, ending mass shelterization of poor New Yorkers, and participating in several NYC and national coalitions. Tasks range from basic organizing strategies in targeted neighborhoods, such as outreach and basebuilding and leadership development, to intensive campaign development strategizing alongside homeless and formerly homeless PTH members. Our city-wide Housing, Not Warehousing Campaign will encompass extensive coalition work with a diverse range of allies including grass roots organizations, faith communities, and community based organizations, as well as legislative work. Bilingual English-Spanish candidates are preferred. Personal experience with homelessness is also a plus.  PTH is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse, multicultural work environment.
