Blog and Press
Picture the Homeless always tries to get our message out into the mainstream media – that’s what shapes public opinion, after all, and public opinion shapes public policy, so if we want to have a positive impact on policies around homelessness and housing and policing we need to change the narrative around these issues.
But we can’t rely on the mainstream media to tell the whole story, and to tell it accurately. When it comes to homelessness, even the most supposedly-liberal news outlets just use bigger words to say the same things as the tabloids. That’s why our blog is so essential – because it gives homeless people a voice and a space to challenge the lies and the misrepresentations.
Here’s where you can come for all the latest news on our work, in the news and on our blog, including responses to current events and analyses of new policies directly from people experiencing homelessness.
