“This administration would rather sell its vacant properties to private developers than house this city’s homeless population. Our protest is a warning shot to the de Blasio administration to signify that we, Picture The Homeless, are aware and watching. We demand that they build housing or renovate these properties to house extremely low and low income individuals and families who are or shall be homeless due to the rapid increase in the cost of living in this once great city.”
Al Williams is a native New Yorker born and raised in Brooklyn. A civil engineer by trade, Mr. Williams has been an active member of PTH since 2015 and is engaged in both the Housing campaign and the campaign for the Civil Rights of the homeless. Mr. Williams has seen firsthand the realities of being street homeless and of residing within the DHS shelter system.
